
Johnathan Fisher, Professor of English at San Juan College (SJC), serves as the college’s Distinguished Teaching Chair for Artificial Intelligence. In this role, he leads campus-wide initiatives to shape AI policy, organizes professional development for faculty, and facilitates book clubs on emerging AI topics. In Fall 2025, Fisher delivered the San Juan College Convocation keynote, Using AI Wisely: Find the Gold, Skip the Fool’s Gold, which highlighted both the promise and pitfalls of AI in higher education.
Beyond his Distinguished Teaching Chair role at San Juan College, Fisher provides AI-focused keynotes and workshops for educational and professional organizations including the Four Corners Conference for Professional Development, the National Community College Humanities Association, the Four Corners AI Conference, San Juan College’s Enterprise Center Innovation Week and regional school districts. His talks offer practical, research-informed strategies for integrating AI in education while preserving human agency, creativity, and critical thinking.
